welcome (back)
Those who’ve been following my culinary adventures for years will know that Little House on the Hudson actually dates back to 2014 (or what I like to call “BC” - Before Caroline, my oldest child). I had infinite childless hours to play house, tinker in the kitchen and read (in one sitting!) home and garden magazines all while blissfully enjoying the ups and downs of new homeownership in my (then) little house on the Hudson River in Westchester County, NY.
Fast forward to 2016-2017, I had quit my corporate day job but was somehow a little less available with a toddler running around, an endless stream of toys to put away and as soon as naptime became a thing of the past, so too did the blog.
One major house renovation (now Larger House on the Hudson, I suppose), a set of rambunctious boy twins, and a never-ending global pandemic later, I’ve never had less time to post but felt more compelled to do so.
As a self-professed off-the-charts extrovert, connections on Instagram during the last few years have allowed me to stay close to friends near and far and collectively share the highs and lows of cooking and gardening, life, parenthood and more. It’s filled my cup in so many ways and I am hopeful this extension allows those connections to go a step further.
Posts may be sporadic and fleeting. But you can guess when I do get time to post I’ll be here — sitting in my kitchen sipping a glass of rosé in one of those quiet moments where the kids are playing, the house is probably a bit of a mess, I’m itching to run down into the garden, and I’m daydreaming about what’s for dinner.
Thanks for stopping by, friends.
